PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Protein A is a 42 kDa surface protein originally found in the cell wall of the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus. Protein A binds strongly to the Fc region of IgG from human (total IgG, IgG1, IgG2 and IgG4), mouse (IgG2a, IgG2b and IgG3), rabbit, guinea pig, pig, dog, and rhesus monkey.
For convenient amino-based conjugation, the product is free from amino-based puffers. Protein A is useful as reagent for coating or detecting specified IgG in ELISA and immunoblotting procedures.

FORMULATION
For shipping at ambient temperature Protein A is dried with a HEPES, NaCl and sucrose buffer base.

PREPARTION AND HANDLING
The product should be reconstituted with 
100 µl water yielding a concentration of 
10 mg/ml. The reconstituted stock solution can be frozen in aliquots for later usage. Stock solutions can be diluted in appropriate buffers as needed.

STORAGE / STABILITY
For long term storage the dry-stabilized Protein A should be stored between 2 °C and 8 °C. Reconstituted stock solutions can be stored at 2 – 8 °C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage, stock solutions can be frozen in working aliquots. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided.

RECONSTITUTION AND CONCENTRATION
10 mg/ml after reconstitution with 100 µl H2O.

RECOMMENDED DILUTION
For protein conjugation a final concentration of 2 to 10 mg/ml is recommended. For direct microplate coating a final concentration of 0.5 to 5 µg/ml is recommended. For optimal performance the reagent should be titrated for each application.
